On a recent Saturday night at Citi Field, the Mets were getting killed. Down 5-0 in the top of the 9th inning, they had only one base hit, and were about to drop their third straight to the Yankees. In those three games, they had been outscored 29-1. Late-night heroics didn’t appear to be anywhere on the horizon, but the Mets broadcasting triumvirate of Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling were on TV, and—as has often been this case during this disappointing season—were picking up the slack.

GaryKeithandRon.com and the Pitch in for a Good Cause Foundation hosted an exciting event at Citi Field on Father's Day, June 21st. Twelve children without fathers were treated to a wonderful day in the Modell's Clubhouse. They got to go on the field, they received tons of fabulous donated gifts from wonderful GKR supporters and enjoyed a nice day at the ballpark.

From Connecticut to Queens: A very special Father's Day at Citi Field
This past Father's Day, Ridgefield's Lynn Cohen, of the nonprofit Pitch in For a Good Cause Foundation, made sure twelve boys had the time of their lives watching the Mets at Citi Field. Nothing would get in the way-not the rainy weather forecast, not the distance to travel, and certainly not the fact that these boys are growing up without fathers.
